Yep, the dragon riding thing. Pretty quick instance these days with a compentent group, still a nightmare with clueless folks. And for a 5boxer ... easy, until Eregos, the last Dragon boss. Is it possible at all to macro the dragon's abilities? Micro-managing 5 drakes of 3 different colors is pure terror for me, as my red drake keeps dying. I just got used to not watching WoW life bars anymore but the GCP interface instead .. which always shows full health for all my toons, and next thing I see is the parachute opening on my tank ... :(
Now what I'm looking for is a practical way of doing this every day without the need for heroic deeds on my part every time. Maybe macro the red and bronze drakes, and handle the green drake manually. Or go with green drakes only and kite the boss?
Is there a way to make Oculus doable?

While doing the daily heroic today on my raid healpriest I found myself queued with ... a multiboxer! Pally and 3 warlocks. Of course, healing is the tricky part in Oculus. He took 4 red drakes, and I decided to test a tactic I read about: dismount and heal from an island, instead of bothering with the green drake's stupid health funnel. Worked perfectly! The trick is apparently for the other drakes to stay between me and Eregos, keeping him at distance so I' not getting hit by his arcane barrage or whatever he's casting. My healer took almost no damage, and was easily able to keep the red drakes up (who weren't taking that much damage anyway). The orbs during phase shift ignored me - apparently they only follow drakes?
So it seems all that is required to make this work for a 5box is a macro to spam buttons 1 and 2 on all red drakes from my healer's window (who occasionally throws a heal at one of the drakes), then fly a circle (making sure the healer does NOT follow - "it's a loooong way down"...) during phase shift, return to the island my healer is sitting on, rinse & repeat, get loot. Sounds easy enough ..... :)
